As Buffy Summers thrust a stake into the last of the vampires hearts, it exploded into dust, covering Xander Harris, who the vamp had tackled. "Thanks a lot Buff", he said in his usual sarcastic tone, "now I need to shower again". "Oops", she retorted, "I didn't mean to save your life". Willow Rosenberg emerged from behind a tree where she had taken cover after the vamps had attacked. "Oh well, at least the vampire population is down", Willow said in a down-to-earth tone. "Maybe they finally discovered that condoms weren't party balloons", Xander joked. "Xander, that's disgusting", said Willow, making a face. "And you know vampires don't make little vampy babies", buffy informed him, "they have to convert them". "Well, look who's in Giles mode today", replied Xander. "Hey Buffy", said Willow, shooting Xander a warning glare, "3 vamps in one night, not bad for a slayer in love". "She's not in love", Xander said, "It's just your regular schoolgirl crush with a slight twist". "Xander, did you forget to take your anti-annoying pills today?", Buffy asked. "Well if you're going to insult me I'm going home", he answered using his patented puppy dog look. "It's late, we should all go home", said Willow sensibly. "You're right as usual Will", Buffy agreed, "Mom'll throw a fit if she finds out I'm out, so I'll see you guys in the morning". As all 3 left the cemetery in different directions, a dark figure rose from behind the bushes and slowly walked toward the spot where the girl had killed the last of the vampires and picked up the broken stake which the girl had dropped. As she thought of the spell she was going to concoct when she returned to her lair, she half-giggled to herself. The next morning, Buffy woke up at 7 AM as usual. Through her half-closed eyes she noticed that something was different about her room................
