Pacey jumped up as soon as he saw Andie collapse. He rushed to her side.
She was breathing in gasps.
"Oh God. She’s breathing in gasps. She gasping," Pacey mumbled.
“Calm down Pacey. It’s going to be ok,” Dawson tried to reassure him. He
truly didn’t know if it was going to be ok.
“I’ll go get help,” Abby said. She was gone.
Andie continued gasping until it stopped. Nothing. No breathing.
“She’s not breathing!” Pacey shouted. He was close to either crying in
front of everyone or just going hysterical. “Hurry up Abby.”
“Anyone know mouth to mouth or CPR or something!” Dawson yelled to the
class. No one responded.
Cat was horrified. She couldn’t bear to watch. She knew both mouth to
mouth and CPR. She finally said, “I’ll go get the nurse or someone.” She
was gone as fast as Abby had.
“Why is it that I know this girl not even a half hour and I trust her more
than Abby?” Pacey asked no one in particular.
“Cat should be back soon,” Dawson said.
No sooner had Dawson said that, the school’s nurse, Mrs. Thomas, and Cat
walked in. Followed soon by Abby and some paramedics.
Andie walked around a room filled with white swirling clouds. She didn’t
remember anything, she didn’t know where she was, and she didn’t know if
anyone was here with her. “Hello!” she called. Her voice echoed until it
faded. She tried again, “Hello!”
“Hey little sis,” a familiar voice said behind her.
Andie turned around with a smile on her face, “Tim!” She ran over to her
big brother and gave her a hug. “But wait, if I’m here, and your dead, am
I…”
Tim shook his head; “No you’re not. God sent me to tell you that it’s not
your time to join me up here.”
“Tim you don’t know how much I miss you and glad I am to see you again,”
Andie said. She was crying tears of joy and tears of sadness.
Tim waved his hand. In front of them appeared a window to reality. It was
the Biology lab. Pacey, Dawson, Abby, Cat, Nurse Thomas, paramedics, and
some other students were all there. They were surrounding her.
“That’s me,” Andie said.
“You say you miss me. Well, look how many people would miss you. Dawson,
Joey, Jen, and Cat are all your friends. Pacey, he loves you so much
Andie. Jack, he needs you to comfort him and help in bad situations. And
Mom, what would she do if she lost you too,” Tim stated.
“Why are you telling me this. I mean if I have no choice-” Andie started.
“Actually, you do have a choice. If you really wanted to stay up here, you
can. It’s your choice,” Tim interrupted.
Andie turned to the viewing. She watched and thought. She thought deeply.
The paramedics had put Andie on a stretcher. She had a breathing mask
around her mouth and nose to help her breath. Cat was still horrified.
Dawson came up beside her and put a comforting arm around her. “She’ll be
ok.”
“It’s just all to familiar,” Cat mumbled.
“What’s all to familiar?” Dawson inquired. He wanted to get to know this
girl so he was going to ask lots and lots of questions.
“It’s nothing,” Cat said, “Look I have a car so if you want to catch a
ride to the hospital I can drive you. I’m sure Pacey is going to in the
ambulance.”
Dawson watched. Sure enough Pacey was following the paramedics out. He was
holding Andie’s hand and it looked like he was saying a silent prayer.
Poor guy, he thought. “Ok.”
