A silver Mercedes convertible pulled in Capeside High’s parking lot. A girl, looking about 16 or 17, sat in the driver’s seat. She looked nervous. “Should I go?” she said to herself. She gulped as she looked at her new school. It was scary. She looked at everyone walking in and out, hustling. She decided to go, or her parents would kill her if she didn’t. She grabbed all her things and hopped out. “Kelly Rakus, meet your new school,” she said.
