“Ok! Thanks Dan and Gina. Next we have Kelly Rakus and Nick Preuhs doing scene…” Dawson said. He looked down at his paper. “19.” Kelly froze at the sound of her partner. She stood there, pale white, like she had seen a ghost. Her mouth was open and she dropped the script. “Kelly, you’re up. Kel. Kelly!” Jen called. She waved a hand in front of her face. “Earth to Kelly.” “I…I ca..ca..can’t. I can’t go up there,” Kelly stuttered out. “Just go,” Jen pulled her on stage. Nick hadn’t heard his name called. Her was reviewing the script. “Hey Nick, you’re up,” Pacey said. “Oh,” he said. He put down the script. He knew he didn’t need it. He walked onto stage, and saw a familiar face as his partner. “Kelly? Is that you? The glasses-wearing, hyper-chic, know-it-all?” She looked at Nick, her 6th grade crush and an old friend. “Hi Nick. Long time no see.” It was true. They hadn’t seen each other since the 8th grade. She was told he moved in with his dad to go to high school in Florida. She had spent her first two years at Wildwood Catholic, until it happened. Her parents sent her off here to stay with relatives. Nick pulled Kelly in a hug and she was surprised. Back then, Nick thought she was the ugliest thing (but they were still pretty good friends), now he’s hugging her. “Billy told me about what happened.” “Oh. So, what are you doing here. I got word you were in Florida.” “My dad moved here. He’s started something or other.” “Can we get moving?” Dawson said. “Yea,” Nick and Kelly said in unison.
