Wildwood Catholic 1997 Kelly opened the door to the janitor’s closet. The screaming had stopped and she could her the rescue personnel all around. She ran quickly outside to search for Dan Five hours past, the total number dead was still rising, and Kelly still hadn’t found Dan. Everyone was so busy running around. She decided to ask one of the rescue personnel. “Um, excuse me, but have you found a Dan Hillegass?” she asked quietly. The firefighter reviewed his list. “Ah, yea. I saw some paramedics take him in that direction.” He pointed to a group of ambulances at the corner of the street. Kelly ran to the corner as fast as she could. She ran into her best friend, Jacie, who said she would help her look for Dan. They checked the ambulances in the row. Kelly caught a patch of red hair out of the corner of her eye. No one could miss his red hair, and she turned her head. She saw Dan lying on a stretcher. She ran to the ambulance but came to a quick stop The paramedics pulled a sheet over Dan’s lifeless body. Kelly felt her eyes fill with tears until she burst out crying. “NO!” she cried. “No…”
