Dawson walked into the empty house and sighed. His parents were away at a couples retreat, trying to solve their differences. They had made the plans long before Dawson had gotten word that the cast wanted a vacation and they were to break for a week or so. Heather walked in two seconds later. She saw Dawson's sorrowful expression. "It's ok Dawson. I'm sure they would have loved to have seen you, but unfortunately their marriage was more important to save for you than it was seeing you and being mad at each other for the rest of their lives," she said trying to comfort him. Dawson looked at her. "I don't want them to get a divorce but I want to see them. I haven't seen them for almost a year." "It's ok," Heather said wrapping her arms around him. "It's ok." "Thanks for everything Heth," Dawson said returning the embrace. After Matt's accident Heather had come to the realization that she really did love Matt and the thing with Dawson was just a passing fling. ******Flashback****** Dawson leaned in to kiss Heather, but she just pushed him away. "Dawson I...I'm in love with Matt," Heather said looking down at her hands. "What?" he asked perplexed. "I know this comes as a surprise and believe me no one's more surprised than yours truly, but both Matt and I realized that we couldn't live without one another," Heather told him. "I hope your not mad." "No," Dawson said shaking his head. "In fact I'm relieved. I knew a long time ago that I was in love with Joey, but was just to stupid and immature to realized it." "We can still be friends right?" she asked hopeful. "Best friends," Dawson stated giving Heather a hug. ******Present Day****** Joey and Cloey pulled into the driveway. "Are you ready for this?" Joey asked Cloey nervously. "As ready as I'll ever be. I just don't know what your sister will think," Cloey replied. "She'll be shocked but she'll eventually accept it," Joey told her. The two got out of Cloey's BMW and walked to the front door of the house. Joey walked in first and greeted her sister. Cloey followed and almost caused Bessie to take a double take. "Joey did you double or something?" Bessie asked. "No Bessie she's um...Cloey why don't you tell her," Joey said nudging Cloey. "Well it's a long story..." Cloey started. ******Flashback******* Around school Joey and Cloey were called the Twins, known by everyone as Jo and Clo. They were always together and looked so much alike that most people assumed they were really sisters. "Joey there is something I need to tell you," Cloey told her roommate. "What is it Clo?" she asked. "Well Jo I think you need to sit down for this," Cloey said. "Alright," Joey said sitting down. "There's something I haven't told you ever since we got here. I was adopted," she said. "So?" Joey interrupted. "Let me finish. I learned everything I could get out of my parents. The only thing that was any use to me was the first name of my mom and that I was born in Massachusetts, Capeside to be specific. I did all the research I could and found out something I would have never expected. My name before I was adopted was Cleopatra Anastasia Potter. When my parents adopted me they changed it to Cloey and went on. Joey we are sisters, not just sisters but fraternal twins. I was born just seconds before you," Cloey explained. Joey's face went white and then she broke into a smile. "You mean we're really twins!? Joey screamed. Cloey nodded as her sister wrapped her in a hug. ******Present Day****** Bessie sat down shocked. "How did...? Why were you...? Um wow," she said flabbergasted. "I don't know either Bessie," Cloey said shaking her head. "But it's true." "You checked everything, am I right?" Bessie questioned. "I even have a birth certificate with me," she said taking the precious paper out of her briefcase. "You're right," Bessie saidwith a nod. "Welcome to the family." Bessie reached over and gave her new sister a hug. "I think this calls for a celebration. Everyone to the IceHouse!" Meanwhile... Gail looked at Mitch and smiled. "Won't Dawson be surprised?" she asked. "I think he will," Mitch replied. Pacey walked out and set a bowl of punch down. "Mr. and Mrs. Leery, I think what you're doing is great," he told the two. "Pacey dear, could you please help me with this," a voice called. "Be right there honey," Pacey called back. "The misses calls." Mitch looked over at Gail and they just laughed. ******Flashback****** After Dawson and Joey had been gone for about 6 months, Pacey had gotten bored. Jen's grandfather had died and Pacey had been her sole supporter without Dawson being there. He knew she still liked him but Pacey couldn't help but learn to love her. He had toyed with the idea of asking her out but he had never had gotten up the courage, however he didn't really need to. One day Jen had decided that this was the day she was going to do it. She was going to at least attempt it, even if she didn't succeed. She dressed carefully in a long hunter green skirt and a black V-neck sweater. She gave her hair an extra curl or to and waited for Pacey to come and pick her up for school. Pacey pulled up right on time, as usual and honked three times to signal the time. Jen walked out smiling. She locked eyes with Pacey and he then broke into a smile. She hopped into the car and they were off to school. "Pacey would you mind stopping the car for a second?" Jen asked. "But Jen we'll be late then," Pacey protested. Since Dawson and Joey had left he'd become more conscientious of school. His grades were up and he was even close to the top of his class. His father had finally calmed down a bit with the town loser thing. It seemed that once Dawson and Joey left, Pacey had time to shine. "Just stop the car," Jen said. Pacey pulled over. "What's this all about?" he questioned. "This," she said before leaning over to kiss him. Pacey was startled at first, but then got used to the idea of kissing Jen. "And since I'm trying to be bold and ask you out, I wanted to do it in private and not with a whole school watching me as I kissed THE smartest and cutest boy at our entire school," Jen said smiling. "Well Jen there is just one answer that pops into my head," Pacey said leaning in to whisper in her ear. "Yes." ******Present Day******** "All right I think that's everything," Jen said walking out with Pacey right behind her. "What time is Heather bringing Dawson over?" "Well when I talked to her I told her around two, which means they should be arriving in about 15 minutes and I told Bessie the same," Gail said with a nod. "Mrs. Leery I gotta hand it to you. You sure know how to throw a surprise party," Pacey said laughing. "Wait here comes Heather and Dawson," Jen screamed from inside the kitchen. "Everybody down," Mitch yelled. "Hello?" Dawson said. "Looks like no one's here. I thought Pacey told you two." "He did. Maybe I misunderstood. Hey look there's Joey," Heather pointed. Dawson smiled, but then he saw another Joey get out of the car and his smile faded. Had she doubled or was he just seeing things? He ran up to the second Joey dressed in a short lilac suit. "Joey!?" Dawson half asked before wrapping his arms around her and kissing her. "Hmm I could get used to this," Cloey said. "I hate to burst your bubble but Joey's right there." Joey was standing there laughing her head off. "See even you can't tell the difference Dawson," she said with a smile before running and hugging him. "You mean you have a twin?" Dawson asked. "Hard to believe isn't it," she said laughing. Bessie interrupted. "Come on let's all go eat." They all walked into the half dark IceHouse. When Bessie flipped on the lights, four people jumped out. Dawson was literally in shock. He turned to Heather and asked, "You put this together didn't you?" "Guilty as charged," Heather said with a smile. "Thanks," he said hugging her. "So Dawson how is everything going?" Gail asked. "It's really great Mom. I should take you all down there. You would really like it," Dawson said smiling. "Hey Dawson," Pacey said approaching him. "So how's everything with Heather?" he asked softly, nudging Dawson. "It was over before it even began. We talked it through and we've become best friends and I'm glad we have," Dawson said with a smile, watching Heather talking with Gail and Mitch. Joey was talking with Jen, something she usually dreaded. "So Jen how have you been?" she asked unusually interested. "Great. Pacey and I started going out. You'd be surprised what's gone on while you and Dawson were gone," Jen stated then filling her in on all that had happened. "Pacey...in line for valedictorian!? I don't believe it!" Joey said laughing. "Believe it," Pacey said walking over to them, wrapping his arms around Jen. "So Joey what's with the double? Does this mean I get to have twice the fun tormenting you?" "I heard that!" Cloey yelled. "Don't even think about it. You'll just get twice the insult back." Heather watched them all and realized she was really out of place here. Dawson walked over and interrupted her thoughts. "What's the matter?" he asked concerned. "I don't know. I just feel like I don't belong her, you know. I know you felt the same way before we started filming," Heather said looking down at her hands. "Come on,"Dawson said putting his arm around her neck and walked her over to the group. Joey noticed this and was immediately aware of them fact that they were still going out. She was just about to walk off when Cloey stopped her. "Hey sis, where you going?" she asked. "I don't know. It just feels weird with HER here. I mean one minute he's kissing me the next wrapping his arms around HER," Joey said crossing her arms across her chest. "Don't worry," Cloey said. "Word on the street is that he's not going out with him, but Matt Damon." Joey just rolled her eyes. "Yeah right." "Just ask Dawson ok. It's either him or Anderson. Take your pick," Cloey told her. ******Flashback****** After Cats, Joey and Anderson walked around New York, exploring all the sites. Then they headed back to the dorms. "I had a really nice time tonight Anderson," Joey said smiling. "Me too," Anderson said. "So when can I see you again?" "How about tomorrow?" Joey suggested. What am I doing? she thought. "Sounds good. Goodnight," Anderson said before turning to go. "Aren't you forgetting something?" Joey asked hopeful. "Well yeah but I really wasn't sure what you would think or want," Anderson said explaining. "Why don't you guys ever go on an impulse?" Joey said throwing her hands up in the air. "You mean like this," Anderson said leaning in to give Joey a kiss. When they broke apart, Joey was breathless. "That's more like it," she stated. "Until the ‘morrow fair Joey," Anderson said turning to go. ******Present Day****** "That's true," Joey said remembering the kiss. "But I don't want confrontation." "If you won't do it, I will. He can't tell the difference. Remember?" Cloey declared with a sly smile. Joey just shrugged. Just then, Heather approached the two. "Um hi Joey," Heather said with a slight wave. "And I don't believe we've met. I'm Heather Spielberg," she said extending her hand to Cloey. "Cloey Richardson," Cloey said smiling. "You can actually tell us apart?" "Yeah it's not hard. Besides I've met lots of twins in my short, pathetic existence and you learn to tell them apart," Heather said with a nod. "I hope you don't find this rude but... are you and Dawson dating?" Cloey asked. "Me and Dawson!? No, we were over a LONG time ago. And Joey, just to let you know, this party was set up for you and Dawson to be together so why don't you go spend time with him. I've had to spend the last year hearing about every little thing you ever did with him so go make him the happiest man in the world," Heather said laughing. "Are you trying to say you set this all up!?" Joey asked flabbergasted. Heather just nodded. "Now go!" she said shooing Joey off.
